| Reverse description | Laureate and draped bust of the young Nero facing right, presented in the Hellenistic portrait style of the Bosporan royal mint. Behind the bust appears the royal monogram of Kotys I, identifying the reigning Bosporan client king who issued this stater in joint homage to the co-ruling Roman emperors. The Greek date letters ΝΤ (numerical value 350 of the Bosporan era, corresponding to 54 AD) appear below the bust. The field is plain, and the coin is struck on an irregular flan typical of Bosporan hammered gold coinage. |
