| Obverse description | Bare-headed and laureate effigy of Emperor Claudius facing right, rendered in high relief with fine modeling of the facial features, including a strong jaw and naturalistic wreath of laurel. The portrait is executed in the Hellenistic tradition characteristic of Bosporan royal coinage, with the bust truncated at the neck. The field surrounding the effigy is plain, with no visible legend on this side. |
