Obverse description Boeotian shield depicted facing, rendered in high relief with deeply concave centre and characteristic lateral cutouts on either side. The shield fills the entire field, its surface slightly worn, presented against a plain, unadorned background. The type is emblematic of the Boeotian League coinage, the shield serving as the principal civic symbol of the federation. No inscription or border is present on this face.
