Reverse description Nike, the winged goddess of victory, stands to the left in full figure, clad in a flowing long chiton with wings spread open behind her. In her raised right hand she proffers a wreath, while her left hand holds a stylis (ship's stern ornament). In the left field a quiver is depicted, and below the wings appear one or more control monograms identifying the issuing authority at Istrus. The reverse legend ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ appears in the right field, proclaiming the issue in the name of Alexander.
