| Obverse description | Helmeted head of Athena facing right, depicted in the idealized Hellenistic style characteristic of Alexander III coinage. The goddess wears a Corinthian helmet pushed back on her head, its bowl adorned with a coiled serpent and surmounted by an elaborate flamboyant crest rendered with exceptional detail. Her flowing curly hair escapes beneath the helmet's neckguard, framing her finely modeled profile. The facial features are rendered with high relief and naturalistic precision, displaying a strong brow, almond-shaped eye, and softly defined chin. The field is smooth and unlettered. |

| Reverse description | Nike, the winged goddess of Victory, stands facing left in three-quarter view, her large, finely feathered wings spread prominently behind her. She is depicted semi-draped, wearing a belted chiton that falls loosely about her lower body, and holds a ship's stylis (naval standard) upright in her outstretched right hand, an allusion to maritime power appropriate to the Phoenician mint of Arados. A mint control symbol appears in the lower field. The Greek royal legend ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ is disposed vertically in two columns flanking the figure, identifying the coin as struck in the name of King Alexander. |
