Obverse description Helmeted head of Athena facing right, wearing a crested Corinthian helmet pushed back to reveal the face, the bowl decorated with a serpent coil. The hair falls in loose locks beneath the helmet rim, rendered with fine detail characteristic of the Macedonian royal coinage tradition. The portrait is struck in high relief with a bold, sculptural quality typical of posthumous Alexandrine staters from Asia Minor mints.
