| Obverse description | Helmeted head of Athena facing right, wearing a Corinthian helmet adorned with a coiled serpent on the bowl and a crest rendered in high relief. The goddess's hair falls in long curling locks beneath the helmet, framing a finely modelled profile with a strong, idealized physiognomy characteristic of the Macedonian royal mint style. The visor of the helmet is pushed back, fully revealing the face. The field is smooth and unlettered, the portrait filling the flan with bold, confident engraving typical of the late fourth to early third century BC Macedonian tradition. |

| Reverse description | Nike, the winged goddess of Victory, stands facing left in three-quarter view, her large, spread wings prominently displayed behind her. She holds a wreath outstretched in her right hand and a stylis (ship's stern ornament) in her left, referencing Demetrius's celebrated naval victories. Nike stands on the prow of a warship (aphlaston), rendered at the base of the design. To the right of the figure, the vertical Greek legend ΔΗΜΗΤΡΙΟΥ reads downward in the field. A small symbol, possibly an anchor or monogram, appears to the left in the field. |
