Obverse description Helmeted head of Athena facing right, wearing a crested Corinthian helmet adorned with a coiled serpent on the bowl; the visor is pushed back to reveal the goddess's finely rendered facial profile. Flowing locks of hair cascade beneath the helmet onto the neck, rendered in characteristic late fourth-century Macedonian die-cutting style. The field is plain, with no legend, consistent with the Alexander-type coinage struck in the name of Alexander III.
