| Obverse description | Facing Boeotian shield rendered in high relief, its distinctive curved cutouts clearly delineated on either side. The convex central boss dominates the field, framed by the characteristic concave indentations of the shield's lateral notches. The shield is set within a plain circular border, the whole design executed in the bold, schematic style typical of Theban federal coinage of the early fourth century BC. |
