Obverse description Highly stylized and abstracted Celtic wreath design derived from classical Apollo types, rendered in the distinctive Corieltauvian manner. The central field features a schematic tree- or lyre-like motif composed of radiating pellets and curved lines, flanked by crescentic and globular elements. The design is characteristically degenerate in the Celtic tradition, with the original Hellenistic wreath reduced to a bold, almost geometric pattern. The surfaces are irregular and slightly convex, consistent with hand-struck flan production. No inscription appears on this face.
