| Reverse description | Deep incuse square divided diagonally by raised ridges forming an X-shaped pattern, creating four sunken triangular compartments. The incuse is boldly cut and irregular in execution, consistent with the early hammered technique employed at Thraco-Macedonian mints circa 500 BC. The surface within the compartments is rough and unpolished, as is typical of the mill-sail or skew type incuse reverse of this coinage. |
