| Obverse description | Baal of Tarsos enthroned left, his right hand extended holding a lotus-tipped scepter; in the left field, a grain ear and a bunch of grapes; to the right of the throne, the Aramaic letter B and an ivy leaf; the letter T appears below the throne. The deity is rendered in a frontal, hieratic style characteristic of Cilician civic coinage of the fourth century BC. |
