Obverse description Baal of Tarsos enthroned left, his robes draped in Near Eastern fashion, right hand extended and holding a lotus-tipped scepter; in the left field, a grain ear and grape bunch; in the right field, the Aramaic letter B and an ivy leaf; below the throne, the letter T serving as a mint or magistrate control mark. The composition reflects the syncretistic iconography characteristic of Achaemenid-period Cilician coinage.
