| Obverse description | Bare head of Augustus facing right, rendered in the Hellenistic portrait tradition with short, lightly textured hair swept forward over the brow. The effigy is depicted with idealized classical features characteristic of Augustan imperial portraiture as adapted in the Bosporan kingdom. The bust is truncated at the shoulder, set within a plain circular border. No legend or inscription appears on the obverse, which is consistent with Bosporan staters of this period that reserve titulature for the reverse. |
