Reverse description Bare head of Agrippa (identification disputed; possibly Tiberius or Drusus) facing right, portrayed in a style closely paralleling the obverse effigy. A royal monogram appears in the left field, and the Greek date letters ΑΛΤ (year 331 of the Pontic era, corresponding to 35 AD) are placed below the portrait truncation. The legend ΒΑΡ to the right of the bust abbreviates the title of the Bosporan king Aspurgus. The reverse composition follows the established Bosporan convention of pairing a Roman imperial portrait with a regal dedicatory inscription.
