Obverse description Diademed and draped bust of King Asander facing right, rendered in fine Hellenistic portraiture style with individualized features. The hair is elaborately dressed in layered, tightly rendered curls swept back from the forehead, secured by a royal diadem. The portrait is set within a plain, open field with no legend, emphasizing the regal effigy. The facial profile is finely modelled, displaying a prominent nose, strong jaw, and naturalistic musculature at the neck and shoulder. The style reflects the Hellenistic royal portrait tradition as practised at the Panticapaean mint.
