Obverse description Diademed head of Asander facing right, rendered in fine Hellenistic style with elaborately coiled and braided hair bound by a royal diadem. The portrait displays naturalistic modeling of the facial features, with a clean jaw line and prominent neck. A scepter or staff is faintly discernible behind the head in the left field, consistent with regal iconography of the Bosporan dynasty. The flan is broad and slightly irregular, characteristic of hammered gold staters of this period.
