| Obverse description | Griffin sejant left, with raised forelegs, prominent folded wings rendered in finely engraved parallel ridges, and an eagle's head with open beak turned to the left. The creature's powerful leonine body rests above a ground line of schematic vegetation, the whole contained within a beaded border. The design is executed in high relief with careful attention to feather and musculature detail, characteristic of the accomplished die-cutting tradition of Abdera. |

| Reverse description | Dionysus, draped and seated to the left, rides upon the back of a panther advancing to the right. The god holds a cantharus in his outstretched right hand and a thyrsus in his left, attributes emblematic of his divine identity. The scene is enclosed within a shallow incuse square, the standard reverse format of Abderite silver coinage. The magistrate's name appears in the field in four segments of Greek lettering distributed around the figural group. |
