| Obverse description | Helmeted head of Athena facing right, rendered in fine high relief characteristic of the Lampsacus mint. The goddess wears a Corinthian helmet pushed back on her head, adorned with an elaborate crest and a coiled serpent on the bowl. Her flowing locks cascade in elegant waves below the helmet rim, framing her idealized profile. The flan is broad and well-struck, with the portrait occupying the full field in the refined Hellenistic style associated with issues struck in the name of Alexander III. |
