Obverse description Facing Boeotian shield rendered in high relief, its characteristic ovoid form with two lateral cutouts clearly defined. The shield's concave boss dominates the field, with the curved notches on either side rendered in precise detail. The broad, slightly raised border surrounds the device, emphasizing the emblematic shield that served as the principal symbol of the Boeotian League. The style is bold and schematic, consistent with Theban coinage of the early fourth century BC.
