Obverse description Helmeted head of Athena in right profile, rendered in high relief in the Hellenistic style. The goddess wears a Corinthian helmet with a prominent crest, the bowl decorated with a griffin in relief facing right. The cheekpieces of the helmet are depicted in precise detail, and the neck is smoothly modeled. The field is plain, with no inscription or exergual marking on the obverse.

Reverse description Nike, goddess of victory, standing in three-quarter left-facing pose, her wings spread upward and outward in elegant relief. In her extended right hand she holds a wreath, and in her left hand a stylis (naval standard). Beneath her right wing, a caduceus appears as a mint control symbol. The reverse legend ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ runs to the right of the figure in Greek characters, identifying the coin as issued in the name of Alexander.
