Obverse description Helmeted head of Athena facing right, rendered in fine high relief characteristic of the Alexandrine coinage tradition. The goddess wears a Corinthian helmet with a prominent crest and cheekpieces, decorated with a coiled serpent on the bowl. Her hair flows in loose, finely detailed locks beneath the helmet, framing her profile in a graceful, classical style. The flan is slightly irregular, as is typical of hammered ancient coinage of this period.
