Obverse description Helmeted head of Athena in right profile, rendered with fine Hellenistic artistry. The goddess wears a Corinthian helmet pushed back on her head, its bowl adorned with a prominent horsehair crest and decorated cheekpieces, with a coiled serpent visible on the bowl. Her hair falls in elegant braided locks beneath the helmet, and the portrait is executed with naturalistic modelling of facial features characteristic of the finest Macedonian die-engraving of the period.
