Obverse description Facing view of a Boeotian shield rendered in high relief, its characteristic double-curved cutouts clearly defined on left and right sides, set within a raised circular border. The shield boss projects prominently from the centre of the field, conveying a strong three-dimensional effect characteristic of early fourth-century Greek die-cutting. The surface of the shield is broad and convex, with the lateral notches precisely articulated. No legend or inscription appears on this face. The style reflects the bold, confident engraving tradition of the Boeotian federal mint.
