| Obverse description | Pegasus in full flight to the left, rendered in vigorous high relief with wings fully extended upward and forelegs raised dynamically. The musculature of the winged horse is finely modelled in the characteristic Corinthian style. Below the body of Pegasus appears the archaic Corinthian letter koppa (Ϙ), serving as a civic control mark. The composition fills the flan with assured confidence, the figure set against a plain, unlettered field. |
