| Reverse description | A tall, three-legged sacrificial tripod with rounded bowl and claw feet occupies the central field, rendered in crisp relief with fine detail on the cauldron rim and legs. To the left of the tripod, a barley grain is depicted in the field, a symbol closely associated with the Achaean colonies of Magna Graecia. In the exergue below, the letter Epsilon (Ε) appears as a control mark. The legend ϘPOT flanks the tripod, identifying the issuing city of Kroton in archaic Greek script. The design is framed by a finely executed border of raised dots. |
