Obverse description Pegasos, the winged horse, depicted in full flight facing left, with wings prominently spread and curled feathers rendered in fine relief. The creature's forelegs are raised in a dynamic galloping pose, with a small dolphin or aplustre visible beneath. The design is executed in the bold, confident style characteristic of northwest Greek coinage of the late Classical period, filling the flan with vigorous naturalistic detail.

Reverse description Helmeted head of Athena facing left, wearing a Corinthian helmet pushed back on the head, with the cheek-guards partially raised to reveal her face in fine three-quarter profile. The helmet bowl is rendered with careful detail, and curling locks of hair emerge beneath the rim. A small floral or decorative symbol appears to the right in the field. The legend ΑΡΓΕΙΩΝ is inscribed in Greek characters, identifying the issuing community of Argos Amphilochikon.
