Obverse description Pegasos in full flight to the right, rendered with vigorous naturalistic detail; the wings are spread and prominently feathered, the forelegs extended forward and hind legs trailing in a dynamic galloping pose. The body is robustly modeled in high relief, characteristic of the Corinthian stater tradition. The letter A (alpha), the civic initial of Ambracia, appears beneath the body of the creature in the lower field.
