Nagidos was among the earliest cities on the Cilician coast to strike silver coinage, and its staters from this period circulated within a regional economy increasingly shaped by Persian satrapal administration and the demands of mercenary pay. The city's mint was active during a stretch when Cilicia served as a critical transit zone for Achaemenid military logistics moving toward the Aegean.
The Lederer reference places this piece within a tightly documented sequence; the SNG Levante specimens largely derive from a concentrated find history suggesting local rather than wide dispersal.
