Obverse description Armored warrior or horseman depicted in right-facing profile, mounted on a prancing horse moving to the right. The rider wears a crested Corinthian-style helmet and appears to be in active combat posture, with details of armor rendered in relief. The horse is shown in a vigorous, animated stance with raised foreleg, the musculature rendered in the bold, confident style characteristic of late 5th-century Cilician coinage. The field is unencumbered by legend, the design filling the flan to its irregular edges.

Reverse description A helmeted male warrior, identified as the Tarsian deity or heroic figure, depicted in a dynamic kneeling-run posture (the so-called 'knielauf' convention) facing right within a shallow incuse square with a dotted border. The figure is bare-chested, wearing a short military kilt, and holds a spear diagonally across the body in the right hand while a round shield rests at his side to the right. The Aramaic inscription TRZ, the abbreviated ethnic of Tarsos, appears in the upper field to the right of the figure, rendered in three bold characters.
