| Obverse description | Pegasos, the winged horse, depicted in left-facing flight with wings fully spread and forelegs raised, rendered in high relief with fine anatomical detail characteristic of the Corinthian engraving tradition. The creature's musculature and feathered wing-scales are crisply articulated, conveying dynamic movement across the flan. The koppa (Ϙ), the archaic Greek letter serving as the mint symbol for Corinth, appears in the lower field beneath the horse. The composition fills the flan with confident artistry typical of the mid-fourth century BC Corinthian mint. |
