Obverse description Herakles depicted in heroic combat stance, striding to left, his body draped in the Nemean lion skin. With his left hand he grasps one of the serpentine heads of the Lernaean Hydra, while his raised right arm prepares to deliver a blow with his club. The figure is rendered in vigorous archaic style, conveying dynamic movement within the roughly circular, irregular flan.
