Issos was a small mint on the northeastern corner of the Cilician coast, active for a compressed window in the fourth century BC before the city became better known as a battlefield than a monetary authority — Alexander defeated Darius III there in 333 BC. The staters attributed to this mint are rare enough that SNG France 414 remains a primary reference point, with the corpus never having grown large enough to demand more elaborate die studies.
