| Reverse description | A nude male figure, identified as a slinger, strides vigorously to the right in a dynamic pose, his right arm raised and drawn back as if in the act of releasing a sling. The figure is rendered with pronounced musculature and a sense of forward movement, his chlamys or sash billowing behind him. To the right of the figure appears a triskeles symbol, a distinctive emblem associated with Aspendos coinage of this period. The ethnic legend ΕΣΤFΕΔΙΙΥΣ (an archaic rendering of Aspendos) is inscribed vertically along the left side of the field within a dotted border, written in archaic Greek retrograde script. |
