| Obverse description | Pegasus in full flight to left, rendered with naturalistic musculature and outstretched wings displayed upward; the winged horse is depicted mid-gallop with forelegs raised. The Corinthian koppa (Ϙ), serving as the city's archaic mint mark, appears in the lower field beneath the body of Pegasus. The design fills the flan with confident, high-relief workmanship characteristic of Corinthian coinage of the 4th century BC. |
