| Obverse description | Facing right, the head of the nymph Terina is rendered in fine archaic Greek style, her hair gathered and bound at the crown of the head in a characteristic rolled arrangement. A pearl necklace adorns her neck, lending an elegant detail to the portrait. Behind the neck, a small incuse control mark in the form of the letter Phi (Φ) appears in the field. The die work reflects the accomplished engraving tradition of the Bruttian mint at Terina, with sensitively modeled facial features and carefully articulated coiffure. |
