| Obverse description | A nude male warrior strides vigorously to the right in a dynamic advancing pose, rendered in robust archaic relief. He carries a large round shield on his left arm, its concave interior visible to the viewer, and wields a spear or sword in his raised right hand. A triskeles device appears between his legs in the field, a symbol closely associated with Aspendos and frequently employed as a civic emblem on these issues. The muscular figure is depicted with the bold, stylized anatomy characteristic of early Classical Pamphylian coinage. The flan is broad and slightly irregular, with the design occupying most of the available field. |
