| Obverse description | Diademed head of the nymph Parthenope facing right, adorned with a pendant earring and a pearl necklace, rendered in the fine Campanian Greek style. Four dolphins are arranged symmetrically in the field surrounding the effigy, serving as emblems of the maritime character of Neapolis. The portrait exhibits high relief with carefully detailed hair bound by a diadem, characteristic of late 4th-century South Italian coinage. |
