Reverse description The eponymous hero Aitolos stands facing left in a dynamic composition, his athletic nude figure shown in three-quarter view. He wears only a petasos (broad-brimmed hat) hanging down his back by its cord, and his chlamys (military cloak) draped over his right leg. In his right hand he holds an upright spear, while his sword is tucked under his left arm; his right foot is propped upon a rocky outcropping. The ethnic legend ΑΙΤΩΛΩΝ arcs across the upper field, with the magistrate's monogram ΛΕ positioned to the left of the figure.
