| Reverse description | Bearded male deity, identified as Ahura-Mazda in syncretic guise, depicted emerging in bust form from the spread wings and tail feathers of a large eagle shown facing with wings fully extended, the whole composition evoking the Achaemenid royal symbol of the faravahar. The deity raises his right arm aloft holding a wreath, while his left hand holds a lotus flower, attributes reflecting both Persian and Levantine religious iconography. The Greek legend AMI appears prominently in the left field. The eagle's body forms the lower portion of the design with a central pellet visible on its breast, the wingtips and tail curving elegantly to fill the flan. |
