| Reverse description | Helmeted head of Athena facing right, wearing a Corinthian helmet pushed back on the head and adorned with a prominent crest, with flowing curled locks of hair visible beneath the helmet's rim. The portrait is rendered in fine high relief with sharply defined facial features, reflecting the accomplished die-cutting style of Corinthian mint workers of the fourth century BC. To the left of the neck, the control letter N is placed in the field. In the lower left field, a small trident symbol serves as an additional magistrate or control mark. The reverse composition conforms to the canonical Corinthian stater type established in the early fourth century BC. |
