Obverse description Land tortoise depicted in high relief, viewed from above, centrally placed within the flan. The carapace is rendered with exceptional detail, exhibiting a fully segmented shell with clearly articulated scutes arranged in a naturalistic pattern. The marginal scales along the edges of the shell are individually delineated, and the head and fore-limbs are faintly visible at the top. The surrounding field is plain, and the coin's irregular flan is characteristic of late Aeginetan hammered coinage of the mid-fourth century BC.

Reverse description Deep incuse square divided by a bold skew or mill-sail pattern into five distinct compartments, a hallmark of Aeginetan coinage. The compartments are recessed to varying depths, creating a strong geometric contrast. Within the lower left compartment, a small dolphin is depicted swimming upward. The Greek ethnic inscription A-IΓI is distributed across the compartments, identifying the issuing city-state of Aegina. The incuse technique and skew pattern are characteristic of the late archaic and classical Aeginetan monetary tradition.
