Obverse description Prow of a galley depicted in three-quarter view from the left, rendered with detailed oar-banks, rowing tholes, and a prominent aphlaston (stern ornament) curving upward to the right. The hull is shown with characteristic ancient Mediterranean ship construction detail, including the projecting ram at the waterline. In the lower field, a trident and a caduceus appear as secondary symbols beneath the vessel. The composition is vigorous and dynamic, characteristic of Hellenistic civic coinage from a prominent maritime city.
