| Obverse description | Youthful head of Herakles facing right, enveloped in the scalp of the Nemean lion whose open jaws frame the hero's brow and whose paws are knotted at the throat. The rendering is bold and plastic, with deeply modelled facial features characteristic of early Macedonian coinage. The flan is slightly irregular, typical of hammered gold issues of the period. No legend appears in the field. |
