| Obverse description | A lion depicted in profile striding to the right, grasping a sword in its raised forepaw in a heraldic pose characteristic of Kyzikene coinage. Beneath the lion, a tunny fish swims to the right, serving as the civic badge of Kyzikos and a standard subsidiary device on this series. The figures are rendered in a confident archaic Greek style with carefully articulated musculature. The field is otherwise plain, with the design occupying the full flan. |

| Reverse description | A quadripartite incuse square divided into four equal sunken compartments by raised ridges forming a cross, characteristic of early Greek coinage produced by the double-punch hammering technique.
