Reverse description Helmeted head of Athena facing left, set within a shallow incuse square, a hallmark of early Corinthian colonial coinage. The goddess wears a Corinthian helmet pushed back on the head, revealing her facial features rendered in archaic profile. Fine engraving details the cheekpiece and bowl of the helmet. The incuse square frame is characteristic of the early fifth century BC hammered technique employed at Leukas.
