Obverse description Pegasus in full flight to the left, rendered in high relief with finely detailed feathered wings swept dramatically upward and a gracefully arched neck. The mythological winged horse is depicted with forelegs extended and hindquarters raised, conveying a strong sense of dynamic motion. Below the body of Pegasus, in the lower field, appears the archaic Corinthian koppa (Ϙ), the city's distinctive mint control symbol. The design is executed in the bold, confident Archaic Greek style characteristic of late 6th-century Corinthian coinage. No border or exergual line is present, the figure occupying the full flan.
