Obverse description Draped bust of Demeter facing left, her flowing hair bound with a wreath of grain ears rendered in fine relief. The goddess's facial features are rendered in the classical Greek style with softly modeled cheeks and a serene expression. Strands of hair fall in elegant waves behind the neck, and the grain wreath is clearly articulated above the brow. The field is plain, with no legend or additional devices. The style reflects the refined die-cutting typical of late fourth-century BC Pontic coinage.
