Obverse description Pegasos, the winged horse of Corinthian mythology, depicted in flying gallop to the left, with detailed feathered wings prominently spread and forelegs raised. The musculature and mane are rendered with fine archaic craftsmanship characteristic of early fifth-century Corinthian coinage. Below the figure, the archaic koppa (Ϙ), the city ethnic symbol of Corinth, appears in the lower field. The composition fills the broad flan with confident, deeply struck relief.

The helmet is adorned with a prominent crest and cheekpieces. To the left of the neck, the archaic koppa (Ϙ) ethnic symbol of Corinth is visible in the field, accompanied by a small crescent or symbol. The reverse is set within a slightly incuse square field, characteristic of early Corinthian stater coinage.
