Reverse description A single large rectangular incuse punch dominates the reverse, sunk deeply into the flan and occupying most of the available surface. The interior of the incuse field displays irregular, rough surfaces with no intentional design, resulting from the application of the punch tool during striking. The raised border surrounding the incuse is plain and unadorned. The absence of any figurative or epigraphic device is consistent with early archaic Ionian electrum coinage, where the reverse served solely as a mechanical countermark to guarantee the weight and authenticity of the issue.
